The images I selected for my double exposure where multiple studio portraits of myself which included blur. My portraits are related compositionally through blur. I used a slow shutter speed and moved my head and body left and right to create the blur effect in my images.
To modify my images I used the dodge tool to lighten all the white areas in the picture. Then I added another portrait and did the same thing with the dodge tool. I set the transparency on the second image to 50% so that both images could be seen. This created a ghostly effect. I inverted one of the two images then I set each layer to the exclusion filter which created the reds and blues in my images.
My images are related conceptually because they both have the same meaning to them. The images are suppose to portray emotions that are hidden on the inside of people and are not always shown. The red and orange picture represents love while the blue picture represents sadness.
